-------------------------------------------- plusFORT 7.60 for Windows Installation Guide -------------------------------------------- Version 7.60 of plusFORT contains 64 bit executables, and must be installed on a 64 bit version of Windows. Download and run the setup program. Open the licence file you have been given (plusFORT.fig) with a text editor such as Notepad. Do not use a word processor or mail client, as it may add formatting codes or blank lines. When prompted, cut and paste the three lines from the licence file into the "Enter Licence Information" dialog box. If you are updating a previous plusFORT 7.60 installation, and the previous installation has a valid plusFORT.fig, you can leave dialog box empty and simply click "Next". In case of difficulty, check the contents of the file plusFORT.fig in the installation directory, using a plain text editor. The file should contain the three lines of text provided. If it does not, simply replace the version of plusFORT.fig created by the installation program with the version sent by your supplier. After installation, you should find a folder in the Start Menu entitled "plusFORT v 7.60". You may have to reboot to make the folder appear. This folder should have 5 entries HyperKWIC manual plusFORT Command Prompt plusFORT front-end (PFFE) plusFORT manual Uninstall The first opens the HyperKWIC manual. HyperKWIC is a new tool which generates hyperlinked keyword in context documentation for code written in any language. The second starts a command prompt which allows plusFORT programs to be run from the the command line (e.g. spag *.f90) The third starts a Windows application which allows you to configure and run SPAG, GXCHK and HyperKWIC. The fourth opens the plusFORT manual The fifth uninstalls plusFORT. If you are using Windows 8 or later, and find that there are fewer than 5 items in the start menu folder, it is likely that you are experiencing a known Windows problem that afflicts many systems with multiple applications installed. At the time of writing, the most reliable fix appears to be to install a third party application, such as "Classic Shell" (http://www.classicshell.net/) which provides the option of accessing the Start Menu via a traditional Windows 7 style menu. The plusFORT manual may not display correctly if plusFORT is installed on a network drive. In this case it is recommended that you copy the manual (pfmanual.chm) from the installation directory to a local drive, and open it from there.
